A Home Equity Conversion Mortgage (HECM), also known as a reverse mortgage, was created over 25 years ago to help borrowers age 62 and older convert a portion of their home equity into tax-free money. HECMs are insured by the Federal Housing Administration and the Department of Housing and Urban Development provides additional safeguards for borrows. This presentation will provide a general overview and provide an opportunity to ask questions.
